Galbestos Removal
Galbestos is a type of metal cladding originally designed for industrial roofing and siding. It was made by bonding asbestos felt to galvanized steel, then sealing it with asphalt and a protective top coat. This process created a highly durable, corrosion-resistant panel.
Used widely from 1948 until production ended in 1987 due to asbestos regulations, Galbestos was favored by major industrial firms for its long-lasting performance in tough environments. Many buildings with Galbestos cladding are still standing today.
Over time, the outer colour coating can crack and shrink, exposing the asphalt/asbestos layer beneath. Continued weathering may lead to deterioration and loss of the protective layers, potentially exposing asbestos-containing materials.
